The Beauty of Nature

Reflections of a Creator

The Word of God starts out with a simple and definitive statement:

In the beginning God ([a]Elohim) [b]created [by forming from nothing] the heavens and the earth. (Gen. 1:1 AMP)

His Holy Word can be very complex, yet simple. We often complicate things that bring so much meaning to our lives. Why is it that man does this? Is it confusion? Is it pride?

Often times, we can rest, relax on a promise in scripture. There is so much beauty in nature itself, that we already know there is a creator without opening the cover of a Bible. Claims to life authoring itself really don't start until there is a reaction against the Bible.

It's like this. Man looks at the beauty of the rolling mountains and says to himself, "Wow, something larger than me made such a mighty and wonderful thing." Then he reads a Bible and says, "I found it." Then he feels a sense of responsibility toward this Creator. In that same Bible, is listed a collection of instructions. Man discovers that there IS a life outside of those parameters. There is fruit to be tasted, if you will.

This man begins a dialogue in his head, "You know, whose to say all this stuff didn't just come about by itself with no help? Maybe I am not responsible. Maybe I'm not accountable." Suddenly he says, "Yeh, something much smaller than me made all this wonderful beauty and design."

Man, while exalting himself above Yahweh, has reduced himself to less than a crumb. While we have been created for glory, with a purpose, man has reduced himself to dust. By choosing to serve no master, humans opt for servitude of the lowest sort.

Let this be a little reminder for me to be "grounded" in the simple truths that stand before me. Let me explore the depths of His majesty instead of "reasoning" myself into believing any form of prideful boast that sets itself up against Almighty Elohim.

Join us today at 4pm and worship the one true God of all creation. Join each Shabbat (Saturday) at 4pm with Lion of Judah Fellowship. We meet at Lifepoint Fellowship on Pedrick Rd. in Tallahassee. We treat the Holy Scriptures with honor and respect. His Word is sharper than any two edged sword, and one day, the Messiah will defeat armies with just His Word.

May you always find power, comfort, and rest in His Word.
