How do you look at milestones?

I just had a birthday. Today, my daughter was asking about our youngest daughter and scheming what to get for her birthday.

My big day was yesterday and she's already working and shopping for the next one. I realized that our family (I have the best daughters of all) likes celebrating birthdays - and just about anything.

If you ask me, that's a fun way to watch the year go by.

That's how God has it planned with his calendar. Mark Biltz calls it "God's Daytimer."

Each year, feasts come and then they are gone. But the good thing is there is another one coming up just around the corner. There are many other events that we can add, like birthdays and anniversaries, and remembrance days. But the big ones are God's days.

What's Next:

We are looking at Purim in the future. It begins at sundown on March 20th this year. At One in Messiah, we have a good time as we celebrate something very similar to the story of Hanukkah. Here is another event which was an attempt to wipe out Jewish people. Here is another example of God's sovereign grace over the world events.

Hmm. World Events?

Sounds like something worth celebrating - and remembering.

I hope you have a great 2019!

If you are feeling closed in by the news of the day, remember that our Abba has got this. Thank Him as you claim it and proclaim it. Then you can celebrate with Joy instead of fear.

Be blessed. Hope to see you at Purim or before.
