I Am Blessed

"In every thing give thanks,"

· Encouragement

Have you ever stopped and counted all the ways in which you are blessed?

King David had some down times. As king, he had to run from, not invading vikings but, his own son. He had to live with the horrible choice he made regarding Uriah. He had his predecessor throw a spear at his face.

Don’t be anxious about anything; rather, bring up all of your requests to God in your prayers and petitions, along with giving thanks. Then the peace of God that exceeds all understanding will keep your hearts and minds safe in Christ Jesus. - Philippians 4:6-7 (CEB)

However, he took times to simply thank Yah for all He is and for all He has done. What a wonderful God.

Praise ye the Lord. O give thanks unto the Lord; for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever. - Psalm 106:1 (BRG)

Why do I like Thanksgiving so much?

Thanksgiving was originally a harvest festival patterned after the fall harvest festival of the Bible. It was earlier in the year (about a month earlier) and was a joyous time, even though tremendous pains had been experienced. They pulled a "David." They realized that there was much to be thankful for. If nothing else, that Yah is our Father.

The Lord is my strength and my shield;
in him my heart trusts, and I am helped;
my heart exults,
and with my song I give thanks to him. - Psalm 28:7 (ESV)

I keep thinking of the many Thanksgiving songs that we sing in fellowship. One is playing in my head right now - the one Michael W. Smith made popular... "His love endures forever....Give thanks. Give thanks..."

Thanks therefore be unto God for his unspeakable gift. - 2 Corinthians 9:15 (GNV)

Yeshua is truly an unspeakable gift. If it were for Him alone, we have all eternity to be thankful for. What a great KIng!

Let us come before him with thanksgiving
and sing joyful songs of praise. - Psalm 95:2 (GNT)

Let us come together and thank the Almighty!

Whether you have already enjoyed the beautiful feast of Tabernacles and Eighth Great Day, or not. Thanksgiving is a great time to reach out and hold hands in prayer and praise. To wake up every morning during this season and list the things that we are grateful for. And may we never stop.

I am blessed. You are blessed.
