Are You Thankful Every Day?

"Enter his gates with thanksgiving"

Thankful People Are Thankful Every Day.

Much is being said about the power of gratitude. Experts say that stating three things for which you are grateful, each day, can be more effective than any chemical stimulant for pulling someone out of the blues.

Grateful people are grateful.

It doesn't really depend on a person's station in life. How "lucky" or successful a person is, does not equal how grateful or thankful a person is. In other words, people aren't just happy if they get stuff or have things to go their way.

Here's a tricky part

Shawn Achor, author of the Happiness Advantage suggests that people who are grateful tend to have an advantage because they are naturally more happy. When people are happy, they tend to cultivate good events. So instead of successful people being more happy, it's pretty much like happy people are more successful

Just about all of the self-help books are promoting a thankful outlook as a way to bring about more happiness and success.

How happy are you?

How Thankful are you?

A merry heart doeth good like a medicine... Prov 17:22

Whenever I think of His provision, I think of this:

You prepare a table before me
in the presence of my enemies.
You anoint my head with oil.
My cup runs over.
Surely goodness and loving kindness shall follow me all the days of my life,
and I will dwell in Yahweh’s house forever.

Psalm 23:5&6

Some people will be caught off guard. All of the sudden it will be Thanksgiving day. "Oh, let's fix something. Let's set up the big screen TV."

The day will come and they will eat, pray, live.

Then it's on through Black Friday and Cyber Monday and getting gifts and making lists.

Breathe

Take a moment right now. Thank Him. Come into His presence by thanking Him. Do that every morning. Make it a habit to be a thankful - a grateful person every day of your life. Then, when the day of turkey and sweet potato feasting comes around, you won't have to scramble for some words to say. You are used to it. You are a happy person with Thanksgiving in your heart.

What are you thankful for today?

Here is an article from Debbie McDaniel "The Power of Gratitude."

Here is a nice video from Terri Savelle Foy that illustrates this concept as well.
