What Day Is It? And Who's Counting?

Sometimes it's just too late.

Are you counting to Pentecost/Shavuot?

As I write this we are in the middle of counting the Omer. As a family, we have a special devotion time, usually after dinner. During the 50 day count to Pentecost, we mark a number on the calendar each day. Then we read a portion of scripture. For the first 22 days, we read a section of Psalm 119.

Counting The Cost

Then we have communion/kiddush. We remember that the Word of God lives inside each one of us and we drink life and eat the bread of life to remember Yeshua. And we pray. Our prayers and our offerings of praise go up before our Father in heaven.

The Scripture

From the day after the Sabbath, the day you brought the sheaf of the wave offering, count off seven full weeks. Count off fifty days up to the day after the seventh Sabbath, and then present an offering of new grain to the Lord. Lev. 23:15-16

At One In Messiah, we will blow a shofar and commemorate the days leading up to Shavuot/Pentecost. Come join us if you don't have a fellowship in Tallahassee that teaches the Hebraic roots and the Word of God fruits of the faith.
